Funding

We work hard to identify sources of funding to support collaborations between business and the University, utilising relationships with external agencies such as: Research Councils, the Technology Strategy Board and Local Enterprise Partnerships.

Enterprise and entrepreneurship

Organisation: University of Hull

Students are encouraged to gain enterprise skills, whether they wish to work for themselves or someone else. We also provide support for existing businesses and individuals considering setting up a company or freelancing.

Issues such as innovation, competition and commercialisation have never been more relevant. The Enterprise Centre helps to promote this in a number of ways including; free activities and events, confidential advice and support and pre-start incubator facilities for hire.

Spark Fund

SparkFund is a new ERDF funded innovation and research support programme available to small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) across North Yorkshire and the Humber sub-region.

SparkFund will help local SMEs to identify, nurture and embed innovation and grow their business through tailored support unique to them.

SparkFund is underpinned by three schemes:

Innovation Vouchers
R&D Grants
Low carbon R&D Grants

 

 

 

Eligible SMEs can apply to any of these schemes. Up to £20,000 of funding is available under the Innovation Voucher scheme per SME with up to £50,000 being available under both Grant schemes.
