CMA helps microbusinesses combat energy overpricing

From today (26th June), measures introduced by the CMA could see microbusinesses make significant savings on their energy costs.

During its 2-year investigation into the energy market, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) found that about 45% of microbusinesses across Great Britain were stuck on their supplier’s expensive ‘default’ tariffs. The study concluded that it was difficult for owners to shop around and switch to cheaper deals, as energy price information was not easily available. Pathway To Work Scheme from Greenport

Greenport Hull have a funded pathway to work scheme to help the longterm unemployed back into work. This is an opportuity for businesses to help people back into work at no cost to them. In return for offering a work placment they will get a motivated individual.

If the company employes the person after the work placement, Green Port funding offers the employer a 20% wage subsidy for the first year of the individual’s employment with them.

Shop front investment in Kirton in Lindsey and Barrow upon Humber could see more visitors

North Lincolnshire Council is offering businesses in the conservation areas of Barrow and Kirton in Lindsey up to £7,500 to help improve their shop front to make them more attractive and appealing to visitors.
