Fast-growing video ad company Ash TV secures a further £200k NPIF investment

MARK WILCOCKSON, ASH LEWIS AND SIMON CRABTREE

Award-winning Hull-based video advertising company Ash TV has secured an additional £200,000 investment from NPIF – Mercia Equity Finance, which is managed by Mercia Fund Managers and part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund.

The latest funding round will allow Ash TV to further develop its video advertising platform and recruit additional programmers. It follows an initial investment from NPIF – Mercia Equity Finance last year.

Enterprise grants
Through the European Regional Development fund the East Riding of Yorkshire Council currently have a limited number of business development grants available to support eligible businesses looking to invest in growing and developing.

Am I eligible for an enterprise grant?
The grant is primarily aimed at engineering, manufacturing, business to business services and online businesses. Unfortunately if you are in the farming, retail or transport sectors or if you only serve a local customer base then you would not be eligible.

New changes to encourage small businesses to apply for government contracts

The government has launched a package of tough new measures designed to level the playing field for smaller businesses bidding to win government contracts.

Cabinet Office Minister Oliver Dowden has announced proposals to exclude suppliers from major government procurement’s if they cannot demonstrate fair and effective payment practices with their subcontractors. Other plans include allowing subcontractors to have greater access to buying authorities to report poor payment performance, signalling the government’s commitment to improving payment practice in the UK.
